Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and thy holy city ...

On May 14th, 1948, Isreal was declared a state and became an official nation and "thy people" were back on the map. Exactly 70 years later, on May 14th, 2018, President Trump moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem declaring Jerusalem the official capitol of Israel and... "thy holy city" was back on the map.
Israel entered into a peace treaty with Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994. Since then, progress in bringing further peace to the middle east has been stifled. In fact, hostilities have continued and there has been divisions in political views especially concerning Palestinians and Israelis.
Now recently, and suddenly, a never thought possible peace deal has emerged between Israel and other Middle Eastern countries called the Abraham Accords, officially signed September 15, 2020. The countries signing onto this accord include the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain. President Trump heralded it as "a new dawn of peace".

President Donald Trump also stated that "many" other Middle Eastern countries would follow soon and specifically cited Saudi Arabia and Omar as soon to be possibilities. Conversely, political lines are being drawn as Iran and the Palestinians condemned the plan, and Turkey and Syria are at least opposed to the plan. The Arab Gulf states appear to have a mixed reaction, some opposing such as Qatar and Kuwait favoring Islamist interests. While, some are mildly supporting such as Saudi Arabia and Oman.
In the aftermath, on October 23, 2020, the country of Sudan formally agreed to normalize ties with Israel. On December 11th, 2020, the Kingdom of Morocco officially agreed to join the Abraham Accords as well continuing the broader diplomatic realignment in the Middle East.
"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even unto the consumation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolator".

We are not yet in the time of Daniel's final 70th week (also known as the 7 years of tribulation). We also know that the Antichrist will not make or draw up a peace contract or covenant but rather will reaffirm or "confirm" the peace covenant that was previously already made. The definition of the word "confirm" is: [a."To support or establish the certainty or validity of; verify: confirm a rumor. b. To reaffirm the establishment of (a reservation or advance arrangement)". ]
Also, some presume the Antichrist will confirm the covenant with Israel alone. However, the Angel Gabriel tells us that the Antichrist will confirm the covenant with "many" (as in many peoples... or many nations).
The current Abraham Accords is signed and goodly validated until 2024. As the U.S President helped establish the first signing in 2018, could it be that the Antichrist will confirm it for another term when it comes due in 2024? Could 2024 be the official start of a new extended term of perhaps seven years... the one week spoken of in Daniel?
The time will come when the world will say "Peace and safety". The confirmation of the peace covenant with "many" for one week of seven years will provide the political platform by which the Jews will be encouraged to then build the third temple in their capitol city of Jerusalem... and "the temple will be speedily built".*
